University of Birjand Signs Two Memorandum of Understanding with Two Afghan Universities

In a meeting, the President of the University of Birjand, Dr. Ahmad Lamei explained all the cultural and historical background we share with Afghanistan and announced the University of Birjand's readiness to increase the mutual collaboration between various universities in Afghanistan and the University of Birjand. Dr. Lamei expressed that the University of Birjand strives to provide forward-thinking and outward-looking applicants from Afghanistan universities to build a solid foundation for their future while enjoying a complete learning and social experience here at the University of Birjand. The President of the University of Birjand referred to the fact that currently, more than 500 international students are studying at the University of Birjand.

Abdolqadir Rahebdoust, President of the University of Ashena, Afghanistan, mentioned various scopes of mutual scientific collaboration between the University of Birjand and the University of Ashena, namely, professor and student exchange programs, conducting joint research projects, etc. He added that: “among all the potential scopes of mutual cooperation, we would appreciate it if the University of Birjand provides the opportunity for faculty members of the University of Ashena to be able to resume their studies in higher education levels”.

Mohammad Rasoul Hosseini, the founder of the University of Maiwand, Afghanistan talked about all the potential fields of mutual scientific cooperation, especially in mining areas.

Subsequently, the Director of the International Scientific Collaboration Office, Dr. Hossein Navidinia explained about the privileges that the University of Birjand holds in cooperating with various universities in Afghanistan. And finally, Dr. Navidinia talked about his future plans regarding forming a working group in which attempts will be made to put all the suggested areas of cooperation into practice.
